Bhut Jolokia, the Ghost Pepper has a reputation. It was officially the worlds hottest Chilli in the Guinness Book of Records from 2007 until 2011. At over 1 millium SHU's it is still one of the hottest pepper in the world. Each chilli ripens from lime green to orange to red. The flavour tends to have a smoky, earthy taste with a somewhat fruity aftertaste.

Arguably the most under-rated pepper in the pepper family. Known as Poblano when green and Ancho when ripened to red, they are one of the most popular peppers grown in Mexico. With a mild taste they are perfect for adding a zing to sauces, sandwiches and steaks, and excellent when stuffed. Very easy to grow and even easier to harvest.

Smaller and sweeter than bell peppers, heart-shaped rather than lobed, Pimento peppers have one of the lowest Scoville ratings of any chili pepper. Incredibly juicy, they can be munched like apples. With an aromatic flavour and distinctive red colour this highly desirable pepper has just enough piquancy to remind you that it's a pepper.

Many gardeners may find it difficult to get excited by a new variety of pea but this new variety really is something different. ‘Shiraz’ is the first modern purple-podded mangetout pea. The attractive purple and pink flowers are followed by a heavy yield of deep wine red pods.

Also known as Italian parsley, flat leaf parsley has dark green leaves and a pungent, sweet flavour. 'Italian Giant' is a selective plant with deeply cut, bright green leaves. Known to have better flavour than other varieties, it is indispensable for a huge range of dishes and is the choice parsley for drying.

Dwarf Canton White is a short and squat variety, often known as Baby or Squat Pak Choi. Tender and delicious, with a compact habit, this fast growing vegetable can be harvested at any stage, for 'baby leaf or left to mature to thick succulent white stems.

The Red Welsh is an old form of the perennial bunching onion with very decorative red stalks and a slightly stronger flavoured than the white variety. Once established, tend to look after themselves. The flowers are attractive to bees and is an effective insect repellent.

The Welsh onion has a mild, sweet flavour and although the Welsh onion is much more delicate, it is strongly reminiscent of the leek in appearance and taste and is similar to the scallion. It is distinguished from the bulb onion by its round hollow leaves and only slight bulb formation.

Nasturtium 'Blue Pepe' is a unique variety from Europe. A culinary variety, originally bred for the edible blue-green leaves and vivid dark red flowers. The flowers dress up a plate and pair sweetness and spice while the leaves deliver peppery punches.

Heading Mustard is a specialty vegetable, prized for its distinctive mild flavour. This cultivar, known as 'Sher-Li-Hon' in Asia produces a longer, looser head than regular Gai Choy, they are tasty, sweet and suitable anywhere you'd like a more tender green with a less assertive flavour than regular mustards.

Mustard ‘Wasabi-na’ is a Japanese specialty mustard, bred for its wasabi like flavour. Bolt resistant and hardy, it can be grown almost all year round. Use delicate baby leaves for salad and fresh eating and mature leaves for tsukemono, ohitashi, stir-frying, and pickling.

Boasting magnificent, savoyed, purple-red leaves edged and veined pale green. Mustard ‘Red Giant’ is a vigorous growing broad leaf variety. Commonly found in mesclun mixes, the leaves are slightly textured and the mild mustard flavour is fresh and zesty.
