Carrot ‘Jaune du Doubs’ is a beautiful old French gourmet variety that produces cylindrical roots 20 to 25cm (8 to 10in) in length with a rounded tip, a smooth surface and thick foliage. Celery ‘Tango’ is an excellent quality, self-blanching celery that produces beautiful apple-green stems with good flavour and texture for that all-important celery crunch. ‘Tango’ is suitable for cultivating throughout the growing season, it has good resistance to bolting, and stands well during hot weather. RHS AGM. Organic Seed.Cutting celery or Leaf celery is the type that is used in Europe. It looks similar to parsley but tastes like regular stalk celery, but with a slightly stronger, herbier taste. It is a darker green, with thin, rounded, flexible stalks and curly, aromatic leaves; it is much easier to grow than its big brother.
The whole process of growing Popcorn is much the same as growing Sweet corn. Sown in May to June, when the soil has warmed to harvest in August to September. Mangetout Pea ‘Snowflake’ is a medium-strong growing early variety that produces pure white flowers and beautiful wide pods. They can be eaten as a mangetout while the pods are flat, or they can be left to mature and shelled for use as a garden type pea. Organic Seeds.
Jalapeño ‘Ruben’ is a reliable, mid-heat chili variety. An interesting variant of the classic Jalapeno with slightly longer, thick-fleshed tapered fruits that ripen from dark green to red. Pimientos de Padrón are amazingly tasty, tiny fresh peppers. The Spanish delicacy often served in Tapas bars, chances are if you have been to Spain you have gobbled up small plates of these in one sitting. Squash ‘Groene Hokkaido’ also known as ‘Green Kabocha’ is a traditional open pollinated Japanese kabocha-type squash that has globe-shaped fruit with lovely dark green skin. This beautiful sweet, versatile squash with dark yellow to orange flesh, thick, firm and fine-grained. It is sweet with a delicate taste of chestnut. Considered to be the most refined in terms of taste, Swede, ‘Wilhelmsburger’ boasts creamy yellow flesh and a mild, sweet flavour.
