Pack 1: Beetroot “Storuman” – 1 gram, 100 seeds.
Storuman is a fast growing globe beetroot that produces smooth, tasty roots with a deep red internal colour. The leaf development is large and strong. Not yet widely available, it is suited to both early and main crops and keeps fresh long after harvesting.
Pack 2: Broccoli, Calabrese, 'Waltham' – 1 gram, 350 Seeds
Developed to withstand the cold of autumn and launched in 1950 ‘Waltham’ has been a favorite ever since. This green Calabrese type produces high yields on compact plants over a long autumn cropping period. Waltham is well known for its fine dark blue-green main head, but also for its exceptional side shoots.
Pack 3: Broccoli Early Purple Sprouting – 1 gram, 350 seeds.
Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli has been selected for its hardiness and flavour. Heavy cropping it has good quality spears that can be harvested over many weeks. It is one of the most flavoursome of vegetables, standing beside asparagus and globe artichokes. Sweet and delicate, it melts in the mouth.
Pack 4: Cabbage "Winnigstadt" - 1 gram, 280 seeds.
Winnigstadt is an heirloom cabbage that owes its longevity to its fine, sweet flavour. With tightly wrapped leaves that encase a firm, pointed heart, they have a delicate flavour, slightly sweet with a satisfyingly crunchy texture. RHS AGM and recommended by the N.I.A.B. Organic Seed.
Pack 5: Cauliflower "Snowball" - 420mg, 100 seeds.
Cauliflower Snowball is a superb variety. Easy to grow and although strictly speaking an early cauliflower, it can be used for successional production all year. The pure white, snowball-sized heads can be harvested when small or left to mature.
Pack 6: Carrot 'Nantes 2' – 1 gram, 800 seeds.
Nantes 2 is suitable as both “second early” and as a “maincrop”. It reaches an average size of 15cm it is virtually coreless with a tender texture, deep orange colour and sweet flavour.
Pack 7: Parsnip "Tender and True" – 2 grams, 440 seeds.
Parsnip “Tender and True” is a popular variety which forms long roots of high quality that are at least 3in wide across at the top. With good resistance to canker it is probably one of the best flavoured varieties to use for both the kitchen and exhibition.
Pack 8: Leek "Autumn Mammoth 2 Hannibal" – 500mg, 200 Seeds
Hannibal is one of the best selections of the Autumn Mammoth type. It gives excellent yields of thick, medium long, white shanks with dark green erect leaves.From the earliest sowings they can be ready for harvesting as early as July to August. Organic seeds.
Pack 9: Onion 'Sturon' – 800mg, 200 Seeds
Sturon is an excellent, standard maincrop variety, producing high quality, juicy-fleshed bulbs.The main variety for onion set production for many years, it is a very flexible dual purpose onion which offers good resistance to bolting. RHS AGM. Organic Seed.
Pack 10: Spinach 'F1 Lazio' – 7.5 grams 500 seeds.
'Spinach ‘F1 Lazio’ may sound like an Italian football team, but it is also one of the tastiest and most succulent spinach you can grow. A superb modern variety with succulent, smooth, dark green leaves. Quick-growing, resistant to downy mildew and slow to bolt.
Pack 11: Swede "Helenor" – 525mg, 200 seeds.
In the past swede has been undervalued but recently this crop is going through a mini revival. Swede "Helenor" is suitable for both maincrop and late production, it produces good quality globe shaped roots that have excellent flesh quality and sweet taste.
Pack 12: Turnip 'Purple Top Milan' - 2 grams, 900 seeds.
Purple Top Milan is a classic Italian heirloom variety and is still as popular as ever. Highly ornamental, it has smooth creamy-white flat roots with bright purple shoulders and pure white flesh. A strap-leaved variety, quick to mature and early cropping, it is an ideal 'catch crop' between slower growing vegetables.
