The Botanico Lets Grow Propagator Kit provides the ideal start for your seeds and cuttings.
The heated propagator creates an ideal growing environment making it easy and very economical to start even the most difficult to grow plants from seeds and cuttings. Gentle heat from the base warms the compost, stimulating germination and rooting. The translucent rigid top traps the warmed air, maintains a moist atmosphere and protects the plants from drying out. The adjustable ventilators varies the airflow and humidity level.
Use this heated propagator in the home, greenhouse or conservatory to raise summer bedding plants, border perennials, shrubs, flowers, herbs, houseplants and vegetables.

With many propagators the real weakness is in the lid. The Botanico model, however, has a strong quality lid, with a rigidity that means that it sits firmly and neatly onto the base. It makes it far easier to wipe clean too.
The lid traps the warm air and keeps the moisture in, which stops the plants drying out. Remember though to open the vents fully once the seedlings start to grow. The fresh air reduces the chances of fungal infection, and will give you stronger plants.

Heated propagators allow you to start your annuals, perennials, shrubs, vegetables and herbs early as well as allowing you to grow some of the 'trickier' seeds.
With many vegetables, especially those that take a while to mature such as tomatoes, chillies, etc., a heated propagator gives you a massive advantage. The tomatoes that you start in your propagator in late February will have about a two month advantage over those started in an unheated greenhouse or polytunnel.

The heater is 18 Watts, which means that it uses roughly the same amount of electricity as a low energy light bulb, or a little under one unit of electricity every 48 hours.
